Our Philosophy and Approach

Having been a nonprofit executive director who hired a number of consultants in my day, I understand that our role is to really listen, first, and then to co-design a process and scope of work that meets the client’s needs.  There are no “off the shelf” presentations or products here–everything is customized to the individual needs of clients. Then, via an iterative framework, and lots of communication, we work to complete the project on time, and on budget.   Depending on the engagement, Soar Strategies will also utilize subcontractors to enhance the work and increase organizational capacity.

Our Clientele

Soar Strategies serves clients in the social good sector, which includes nonprofit, governmental, or corporate entities.

We take the work seriously, but not ourselves, so we use interactive activities to deepen the learning and forward the action.  We love paired shares, table talks, and other types of exercises to work together with you (as an individual, organization, or team) to get the desired results.

We want to build a long lasting relationship — many of our clients have hired us for multiple engagements!

We believe that it’s everyone’s goal to do what they love and are passionate about, and our job is to create an environment that facilitates that discovery.

Soar Strategies works with firms to facilitate brave spaces through the following:

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion
  • Working with staff to assess the current status of DEI organizational policies
  • Developing mission and vision statements, and then an action plan, to further racial equity at a nonprofit
  • Staff and Board trainings on implicit bias, racial equity, diversity and inclusion, cultural competency, and other related topics
Non-Profit Organizational Design
  • Working with staff and Board to develop and execute transition plans amidst leadership changes
  • Advising on organizational restructuring/new staffing patterns
  • Assisting in the vetting and hiring/interview processes of key leadership staff
  • Staff and Board retreats to prepare for a strategic planning process and to “reset” the organizational culture
  • Assisting in the recruitment and retention of committed, impactful and diverse Board member
Speaking Engagements/Group Facilitation
